In an interview given to ADIPEC, Dr Carole Nakhle, CEO of Crystol Energy and President of Access for Women in Energy, discusses the two main challenges facing the oil and gas industry: the price risk and climate change – arguing that challenges also bring opportunities. Dr Nakhle discusses the policy reforms that some of the major oil producing nations have recently undertaken. She adds that closer co-operation between host governments and oil companies becomes more visible during periods of low oil prices. On the role of women in the energy industry, according to Dr Nakhle, there is no single convincing answer behind the persistent high gender disparity in the industry.
At the forthcoming ADIPEC 2016 Women in Energy Conference, Dr Carole Nakhle will be speaking on the major energy policy trends and reforms shaping the economies of oil producers and the investment decision of companies. She will also address the industry’s investment trends in both conventional and unconventional oil and gas, and the impact of today’s oil prices on the relationship between host governments and investors. The event will take place on 9 November 2016 in Abu Dhabi.
