In this commentary to the Gulf Intelligence, Dr Carole Nakhle, CEO of Crystol Energy, discusses the latest developments in global oil industry.
Dr Nakhle talks about the uncertainty that exists around the global economic recovery, following the slow and messy rollout vaccination programme. She also comments on the scars that the Covid-19 pandemic might leave on global economic recovery, but also on the global climate agenda.
Dr Nakhle further discusses oil prices, shale oil, as well as the uncertain oil demand recovery due to the economic performance, while she mentions that on the supply side there has been at least some clarity following the announcement of the OPEC+ schedule over the next 3 months, which has helped the oil markets.
Dr Nakhle is joined by Dr Aldo Flores-Quiroga, Former Deputy Secretary of Energy for Hydrocarbons, Mexico’s Ministry of Energy, and Andy Laven, COO of Sahara Energy Resources. Sean Evers, Managing Partner, Gulf Intelligence, moderates the discussion.
