Ieda Gomes, Advisor, Crystol Energy, comments on the slow development of Brazil’s shale industry. According to Mrs Gomes, exploration in the sector has been limited to some seismic studies and the drilling of a few exploration wells, despite a EIA study in 2013 that set the country as the 10th largest in the world in terms of shale gas resources. She also argues that a stronger government support would be necessary, as well as a proactive debate with societies, communities and NGOs. The interview was given to Chris Noon from Interfax Global Energy.
