Muriel Dube has extensive experience in sustainability following engagement in the resources sector, energy and climate change policy and corporate finance.
Muriel was Group Commercial Director (incorporating sustainability) at the Bidvest Group, Investment Banker at Investec Plc and responsible for sustainability programme implementation at BHPBilliton, among other corporate roles.
In the public sector, Muriel is a former Director of Atmospheric Protection and Chemicals Management and Chief Negotiator at the United Nations on Climate Change for the South African Government.
Muriel has cross sectoral board level expertise spanning waste management, chemicals, telecommunications and oil and gas. Previous directorships include positions on the boards of Vodacom SA, Bidvest Group, Flourmin Plc and Rockwood Private Equity.
Muriel currently advises on corporate sustainability and serves as a Director on the boards of the PG Group, Enviroserv and the Sasol Group where she is Chairman of the Safety, Social and Ethics Committee and a member of the Capital Investment Committee.
Muriel holds an MSc degree in Environmental Change and Management from Green Templeton College, Oxford University, graduate degrees in Politics and Social Sciences from the University of Johannesburg, and executive development qualifications in Finance and Climate Change from SAID Business School, Oxford University and HIID, Harvard, respectively.
