Crystol Energy CEO Dr. Carole Nakhle was quoted in Energy Intelligence on the UAE’s plans to lift its oil production capacity toward 6 million barrels per day. She noted that “the UAE has long been preparing to expand its oil production capacity, but unfavorable market conditions and Opec+ policy decisions have delayed or constrained the pace of its plans.”

Despite these headwinds, Dr. Nakhle stressed that progress has continued behind the scenes: “It hasn’t wasted time — it has laid the groundwork with well-structured strategies to move quickly when conditions allow.”
Looking ahead, she added that even if the UAE does not hit its target by 2027, “it won’t be far off.”
