Crystol Energy CEO Dr. Carole Nakhle Delivers Keynote at IEEE PowerTalks 2025 in Oman

Dr Carole Nakhle, CEO of Crystol Energy, delivered the keynote presentation at IEEE PowerTalks 2025, a premier regional event focused on power systems innovation, energy transition, and grid resilience.

In her keynote presentation titled “Energy Security in the Age of Electricity,” Dr. Nakhle provided a comprehensive overview of global and regional energy trends, with a particular focus on the evolving nature of energy security in an increasingly electrified world.

Drawing on her personal experience growing up in Lebanon during the civil war, Dr. Nakhle underscored the real-life implications of unreliable electricity access. “It’s not just an inconvenience,” she remarked. “It’s a fundamental vulnerability – one that continues to affect millions of people today.”

The presentation highlighted the transformation underway in the power sector – from how energy is produced and distributed, to how it is consumed – and the new risks emerging as a result.

Dr. Nakhle emphasised the importance of recognising policy risk as a central challenge, and the need for fresh thinking to effectively navigate the energy transition.

IEEE PowerTalks 2025 brought together leading experts, policymakers, and industry stakeholders to advance discussions on renewable energy integration, grid modernization, and technologies driving a secure and sustainable energy future for the Middle East.

Speaking after the event, Dr. Nakhle commented:

“Crystol Energy is proud to be part of the global conversation on building a more resilient energy future. Events like IEEE PowerTalks play a vital role in connecting thought leaders, sharing insights, and fostering collaboration across borders.”
