On the sidelines of the Arab Energy Club’s meeting and the International Energy Forum (IEF) gathering in Paris, our CEO Dr. Carole Nakhle, who is also the President of the Arab Energy Club, paid a courtesy visit to Dr. Fatih Birol, Executive Director of the International Energy Agency (IEA). The visit was part of a broader effort to strengthen collaboration and dialogue between key stakeholders in the global energy landscape.
Dr Nakhle was accompanied by Club members Dr. Adnan Shihab-Eldin, Kate Dourian, Dr. Manal Abdel Samad, and Yesar Al-Maleki.
During the meeting, both parties discussed the strategic priorities of their respective organizations, with particular attention given to energy security, electricity demand growth in the MENA region, and the increasing global focus on critical minerals. Dr. Birol also highlighted the valuable contributions of Arab analysts within the IEA, an encouraging sign of growing regional engagement in global energy policymaking.
“I would like to thank Dr. Birol for the generous time and candid discussion,” said Dr Nakhle. “It was a pleasure to exchange views on pressing energy challenges and explore opportunities for greater cooperation.”
The Arab Energy Club also extended its appreciation to Ali Saffar, a valued member of the Club, for facilitating the meeting.
