Crystol Energy was pleased to contribute to the International Conference on Energy Resources as a Driver of Economic Growth and Sustainability, held in Maputo and jointly organized by the Mozambique Revenue Authority and the International Tax and Investment Center (ITIC).
Representing Crystol Energy, Mr Christof Rühl, our Global Advisor and former Chief Economist at BP, delivered a keynote presentation during the opening panel on “Overview of Global Energy Markets and the Role of Mozambique’s LNG.”
Christof provided a clear and data-driven assessment of global energy market trends, the evolving balance between hydrocarbons and renewables, and the strategic role Mozambique’s LNG projects can play in meeting global energy demand while supporting the country’s long-term economic ambitions. His insights set the tone for a productive discussion with senior representatives from INP, INAMI, ENH, and Vulcan Mozambique.
Later that afternoon, Christof joined Panel 2: The Impact of the LNG Sector for Economic Development, alongside high-level figures from the Government of Mozambique, TotalEnergies, and other key industry stakeholders. The discussion focused on how resource development can translate into inclusive growth, enhanced fiscal stability, and sustainable development outcomes.
The event brought together policymakers, international organizations, and private-sector leaders, including addresses by senior government officials such as H.E. Adriano Maleiane, Prime Minister of Mozambique, and Hon. Amélia Muendane, President of the Mozambique Revenue Authority.
Christof’s contribution received excellent feedback from participants, who appreciated his depth of analysis and ability to connect global trends to Mozambique’s national context.
Crystol Energy remains committed to advancing informed dialogue on energy, economics, and sustainability, and to supporting countries and institutions in maximising the benefits of their natural resource endowments for future generations.
