Peter van Leeuwen on Geopolitics, Europe and Global Cooperation

Peter van Leeuwen, member of Crystol Energy’s Advisory Board, was featured in Tulip Magazine, where he shared his views on the geopolitical and economic forces reshaping the world. Drawing on more than four decades of diplomatic experience, he argued that today’s turbulence reflects a long term shift from commercial globalisation towards a more geopolitical form of globalisation.

The interview explored the growing importance of energy security, supply chains and strategic trade relationships. Van Leeuwen highlighted the vulnerability of major maritime corridors, including the Strait of Hormuz, Bab el Mandeb and the Red Sea, while noting that diplomacy, business, energy and geopolitics have become increasingly interconnected. He also discussed the growing strategic role of Kazakhstan and Central Asia as bridges between Europe and Asia.
