Christof Rühl, member of the Advisory Board of Crystol Energy and a Senior Fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School and the Center on Global Energy Policy at Columbia University, chaired the panel discussion at the ADIPEC Strategic Conference under the theme “ESG and the oil and gas industry in a post-pandemic world” that took place on Tuesday, November 10, 2020.
Christof, along Jérôme Schmitt, Chairman of the OGCI Executive Committee, Neal Anderson, President at Wood Mackenzie, and Francesco La Camera, Director General at IRENA, discussed how energy companies are changing as they develop new business models to invest sustainably and responsibly and how collaboration between entities is playing an increasingly important role in the energy transition.
During the session, the immediate impacts of COVID-19 on energy transition agendas were also addressed, with the speakers discussing how the economic downturn will affect businesses’ decisions towards Socially Responsible Investing.
