Crystol Energy Provides Key Insights at Fuellers’ Duke of Edinburgh Future Energy Conference

Crystol Energy is pleased to announce that its CEO, Dr Carole Nakhle, participated in the opening panel of the Fourth Fuellers’ Duke of Edinburgh Future Energy Conference, held on 2 December at the historic Mansion House, the official residence of the Lord Mayor of London.

The conference, founded by HRH The Duke of Edinburgh during his year as Royal Master of the Worshipful Company of Fuellers, has become a flagship event in the City of London’s energy calendar. This year’s edition brought together nearly three hundred senior executives, policymakers, and energy leaders to examine the long-term outlook for global energy systems.

Dr Nakhle spoke on the opening session, “The Challenges & Context,” alongside Rt Hon Chris Skidmore, author of the Independent Review of Net Zero, and Mallika Ishwaran, Group Chief Economist at Shell International and Chair of the BIEE Council. The discussion was moderated by Jon Clark, Partner at EY–Parthenon.

In her remarks, Dr Nakhle highlighted the vulnerability of the global energy transition, a vulnerability driven not merely by inconsistent policy, but by policies that are constantly shifting, often abruptly, and with significant impact on investor confidence, competitiveness, and long-term planning. She also addressed the future of energy security in a greener world and reflected on the evolution of the UK’s energy mix.

Crystol Energy’s Global Advisor, Christof Rühl, also contributed a keynote address, adding his perspective on the global energy landscape and market dynamics.

Dr Nakhle commented:
“It is always a pleasure to contribute to this important conference. The energy transition is a multi-decade challenge requiring clarity, consistency, and strong institutions. Constant policy shifts only add to volatility at a time when predictability is most needed.”

Beyond the strategic discussions, the event offered an opportunity to hear from HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, whose continued involvement reflects his enduring support for the Fuellers and the UK’s role in shaping the global energy future.

Crystol Energy congratulates the Worshipful Company of Fuellers on another outstanding conference and remains committed to advancing informed, evidence-based dialogue on the future of global energy.
