Crystol Energy CEO, Dr. Carole Nakhle, was quoted by DW on why Kazakhstan remains a key player in the global oil market, and how recent disruptions have exposed the risks of relying on a single export route.
She said the Tengiz field is one of the largest in the world and a critical part of Kazakhstan’s oil output, highlighting how closely the country’s production and export performance is tied to the stability of key infrastructure.

She also noted that the latest disruption further highlighted the weakness of relying on one route, and pointed to the need to intensify efforts to diversify exports to Azerbaijan via the Baku Tbilisi Ceyhan pipeline and to China via a smaller pipeline.
