On the occasion of International Women’s Day, in this interview given to Maya Hojeij from Asharq Business Bloomberg, Dr Carole Nakhle, President of Access for Women in Energy (AccessWIE) and CEO of Crystol Energy, commented on the small role women continue to play in the industry, globally, both in the private and public sector and across the entire supply chain.
OPEC (and even OPEC+) is one illustration of the current industry’s status with respect to women’s participation in leadership position. As Dr Nakhle put it: how often do you meet parents saying their dream is for their daughter to work in the oil and gas industry??
